There are many options after 12th Science with the best career opportunities, more jobs, business opportunities etc.

Courses after 12th Science are:

  • MBBS- It means Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery or in Latin: Medicinae Baccalaureus, Baccalaureus Chirurgiae (abbreviated in many ways, e.g. MBBS, MB ChB, MB BCh etc.)

Specializations in MBA are Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, Paediatrics, Surgery, Ophthalmology, ENT, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Anesthesiology and Critical care etc.

Entry Qualification:

Any examination equivalent to H.S.C. / (10+2) examination, of any recognized Board/ University after 12 years of study. 50% in PCB for general category and 40% for reserved category.

Admission Procedure:

The admissions to M.B.B.S. course shall be done on the basis of the merit list as ascertained from the performance of the candidates in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test 2017 – 18 conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Delhi by DGHS New Delhi

  • Bachelor of Dental Surgery- Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) is a 5-years course including 1-year internship.

Entry Qualification:

  1. S. C. or any other examination equivalent to 10+2 HSC examination of any recognized Board/ University after 12 years of study. 50% in PCB for general category and 40% for reserved category.

Admission Procedure:

The admissions to B.D.S. course shall be done on the basis of the merit list as ascertained from the performance of the candidates in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test 2017 – 18 conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Delhi by DGHS New Delhi

  • Sc. Nursing- B.Sc. Nursing- BSc Nursing is a 4-year degree program which follows the syllabus prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council. The aim of this program is to prepare graduates to assume responsibilities as professionals.

Admission Requirements:

  1. The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st Dec. of the year of admission.
  2. The minimum educational requirements shall be the passing of :
    • Higher Secondary school Certificate Examination (12 years course)

Or

  • Senior School Certificate Examination (10+2), Pre-degree Examination (10+2)

Or

  • An equivalent with 12 years schooling from a recognized Board or University with Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) & English with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks(PCBE), For reserve category 40%.
  • The candidate shall be medically fit.

 

  • B. B. Sc. Nursing- Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing is a two-year program offered by Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Nursing. The minimum educational requirement shall be the passing of GNM & the candidate shall be medically fit.

Course Description:

The aim of the undergraduate nursing programme at the post-basic level is to upgrade the diploma (GNM) nurses to:

  • Assume responsibilities as professional.
  • Competent nurses and midwives at the basic level in providing promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services. make independent decisions in nursing situations.
  • Protect the rights of and facilitate individuals and groups in pursuit of health, function in the hospital, community nursing services, and conduct research studies in the areas of nursing practice.
  • They are also expected to assume the role of teacher, supervisor, the manager in a clinical/public health setting.

Objectives-

On completion of B.Sc. Nursing (Post-Basic) degree programme the graduates will be able to:

  • Assess health status, identify nursing needs, plan, implement and evaluate nursing duals, families and communities.
  • Demonstrate competency in techniques of nursing based on concepts and principles from selected areas of nursing, physical, biological and behavioral sciences.
  • Participate as members of the health team in the promotive, preventive, curative and

the restorative health care delivery system of the country.

  • Demonstrate skills in communication and interpersonal relationship.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities and decision-making abilities in various situations.
  • Demonstrate skills in teaching to individuals and groups in community health settings.
  • Demonstrate managerial skills in community health settings.
  • Practice ethical values in their personal and professional life.
  • Participate in research activities and utilize research findings in improving nursing practice.
  • Recognize the need for continued learning for their personal and professional development.

Admission Requirements-

  • The minimum educational requirement shall be the passing of General Nursing & Midwifery
  • The candidate shall be medically fit.
  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy- Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) is a 4 Years (8 Semesters) + 6 Months Internship with choice-based credit system of assessment. BPT is bachelor degree course.

Entry Qualification:

Candidate should have passed in the subject of Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) and English individually and must have obtained minimum 50% marks taken together in PCB at the qualifying examination i.e. 10+2 examination.

  • Optom. (Clinical Optometry) – This is a 4 years degree course in Bachelor of Science in Clinical Optometry including 3 years of Theory and 1 year of Internship.

Entry Qualification:

A candidate must have passed Std. XII or equivalent examination with 50% marks for General Category (45% marks for reserved category) in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics and English subjects or a candidate who have passed Minimum Competency Vocational Course(MCVC) from recognized Board with overall 50% marks.

  • Tech. (Biotechnology) – B. Tech Biotechnology is a four-year undergraduate degree course in Biotechnology.

Entry Qualification:

The candidate must have either appeared at Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC / Std. XII) examination OR equivalent qualification of any board in India or abroad, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Life Sciences (and desirably with Mathematics) or, if the result of the exam has been declared, he/she must have passed the same examination with minimum 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together (40% for the Reserve Category candidates).

  • Tech. (Medical Biotechnology) – B. Tech. (Medical Biotechnology) is 4-years undergraduate course in Biotechnology.

Entry Qualification:

The candidate must have either appeared at Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC / Std. XII) examination OR equivalent qualification of any board in India or abroad, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Life Sciences (and desirably with Mathematics) or, if the result of the exam has been declared, he/she must have passed the same examination with minimum 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together (40% for the Reserve Category candidates).

  • Tech. (Integrated) Biotechnology- M. Tech. (Integrated) Biotechnology is a 5-years post-graduate course after 12th.

XII) examination OR equivalent qualification of any board in India or abroad, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Life Sciences (and desirably with Mathematics) or, if the result of the exam has been declared, he/she must have passed the same examination with minimum 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology taken together (40% for the Reserve Category candidates).
